Mise en scene
in the tv show "life on mars" when it begins it is set around present time, how ever when the story line changes and the time set in goes back to round the 1970's there is a change in the scenery the "mise on scene" which is everything that is infront of the camera, which therefore means that everything the audience can see, for example the setting of the scene, the characters, and all the props. when it goes back to the 1970's it changes to a much more masculine feeling, there are only men working in the office a much more macho, violent scenario where every one wants to be the tough guy and show everyone else who is in charge kind of like a pack of animals in a jungle. Another change in the mise on scene is the way in which the director has decided to change the setting of the show and everything infront of the camera. a more dark more old looking 70's feel has immediately been added to the show and the audience can automatically analyse that there is a change in time as the setting changes completely from how it initially starts.
the mese on scene of a tv show can determine many factors and can manipulate how the audience see a certain character or maybe a more overall factor such as immediately analysing the scene and letting the audience know and feel what is going on, "life on mars" is a great example as we where able to see the change immediately which shows good techniques of mese on scene.
mese on scence is crucial for the creation of a tv show or movie infact.

Production
In pre-production all the planning for the project takes place, in terms of scripting, selecting scene locations and storyboarding your film. Then the production is broken down into individual scenes and all the locations, props, cast members, costumes, special effects and visual effects are identified.

The next step is picking an ideal look and feel you want the movie to have. By choosing particular shooting styles, costume designs, set designs and Lighting.
Finally the footage has to be edited to achieve an accomplished film; music can be incorporated into the editing process as well as special effects if needed.
Distribution
Having the backing of a major studio or a well-known director or star can greatly improve the chances of securing a good distribution deal.
Independent filmmakers often use film festivals as an opportunity to get the attention of distributors.
Most of the major studios have their own distribution companies. For example, Disney owns Buena Vista, a major distributor.
When a distributor has leased a movie, they will try to determine the best strategy for opening the movie. Here are some factors to consider: Studio, Target Audience, Star power, Buzz, Season
Marketing
I discovered the main forms of promotions are: TV commercials, Theatre trailers, Internet, Newspapers and Billboards. Days before a film release movie marketers will usually plaster the sides of buses with huge ads, place billboards all around the city, run tons of teaser trailers on TV, place full-page ads in major newspapers and magazines, and the movie's stars will show up on all of the major talk shows. Promoters will place interactive ads on websites which there target audience would frequently visit.
Exhibition
The most common way of watching movies was usually by going to the cinema but recently it has started to lose popularity as now only 4% of film viewing is seen within the cinema and this is down to the fact that more people are beginning to use the Internet for film viewing with increasing amounts of pirated films being available throughout the web.
