THOR: THE DARK WORLD



Thor: The dark world is a USA superhero movie which was produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
The film was directed by Alan Taylor with a screenplay by Christopher Yost, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeelyn additonally the film was also produced by Kevin Feige.

The film premiered on the 22nd of October 2013 at the Odeon cinema in London Leicester Square. It was released internationally on October 30th 2013 and is scheduled to be released in cinemas on November 8th 2013 in America.



Production:

After the release of "the avengers" movie  in 2012 the director of "Thor" said that Thor would be of onto another adventure, there was a lot of thinking  of what the sequel would be like.  In October 2011, Joshua Dallas, who portrayed Fandral, stated he planned to return to Asgard in the sequel. filming commenced at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London.On October 13, 2011, Disney moved the release date for the film to November 15, 2013. The same day Marvel confirmed that Jenkins would direct the sequel and Natalie Portman would return to star. The filming began in surrey on October 10 2012 and then moved onto different countries such as iceland to complete the setting they where looking for the movie.

Distribution:

They made a Thor 2 website so that the audience could access behind the scenes and any extra clips, photos or games that they could win tickets to the premier, ect.
They used youtube as a form to distribute and put their trailer on the site so that viewers could see what the trailer was like and tease them before watching the movie. A twitter page was created for "Thor 2 " as a form to also reach the audience and keep them updated with any news they managed to get about 22k followers which is quite good for a simple way to advertise the movie. this then allows the marketing of the movie to be easier which means that while launching the movie they can generate revenue from merchandise and similar products due to the tease and build up to the movie. 

Exhibition:

They allowed the audience to chose whether they wanted a sequel or not already that makes the audience feel important as what they say stands as a important decision for the director. by choosing youtube as the way for the audience to watch the trailer it is a really easy and simple way which is also good. by interacting with the audience and making them feel part of the production it builds a loyalty with the movie and can be very good for the potential revenue when the movie is released.




Marketing:

To market the film the creators have sold merchandise to the public, in order to promote the film. Some of the products include lego toys, action figures, Thor's helmet and hammer.
